THE TOP 5 LIMITING BELIEFS THAT ARE KEEPING YOU FROM REACHING YOUR FULL POTENTIAL

We create blocks that hold us back from receiving that which we desire. Ultimately, we can look for stuff on the “outside” to change the trajectory of our businesses all day long – but most of the time where we need to search is inside. Limiting beliefs are tricky. They can disguise themselves, bury themselves, […]

1. Fear of Failure

An inner feeling of fear of failing can paralyze you and prevent you from pursuing your dreams or even your happiness. It is one of the biggest barriers to success. We are taught since we are infants to be careful, to watch out. It translates in our young minds as living in a dangerous world that if we attempt anything new we are more likely to fail. Failure is usually associated with loss and being losers instead of looking at not succeeding at something gives us a better chance to know what to do next the right way. Redefining failure is the first step towards remedying this limiting belief, it is about changing perspectives. Failure might be the door that opens to show you the way to success. Start thinking about the worst case scenario that can happen and prepare for its consequences. Any result you get that is not the predicted worst case is a win, learn from the mistakes and move on to turn the failure to success.

2. I am Too Busy

How many people do you know say that they have enough time for everything they want to do? None, I’ll bet. Most of us have adopted a scarcity mindset in our relationship to time; there is never enough of it and we are hapless victims. In fact, it is one of the few equal resources available to humans, we all have the same number of hours in a day. What differentiates our use of this resource is in what we choose to fill those hours with.
The excuses of “I’m too busy” and “I don’t have any time” have become socially accepted “reasons” why people can’t find love, can’t exercise, can’t spend time with friends and family, can’t eat well, and can’t pursue their dreams. Yet these same people have enough time for their two-hour commute every day, social media, and the latest Netflix series. Choices, choices, choices.

3. No Passion or Purpose

If we metaphorically look at our life like a car, passion is the engine and purpose is the steering wheel. Without them, you stay put and rust. If you’ve forgotten your passion and purpose, then go back in your memory to see when you misplaced them. Kind of like a mental treasure hunt. What did you aspire to be, create and achieve? Might you pick up where you left off, or is there a new avenue that is an evolution of your former ambition? We take better care of ourselves when we are excited to be alive. It’s that simple. Why bother living longer, or improving your current quality of life, if you don’t feel inspired? This is why reaching for your highest potential is good for your health and well-being.

4. Putting Yourself Last

This can happen to anyone who has a strong caregiver tendency, but it is more prevalent in women. Either by nurture or nature, this woman becomes habituated to sublimating her needs and putting everyone else’s needs first. Over time, she fails to place importance on what she needs or desires, and instead focuses on ensuring everyone under her care is well looked after. This classic Mother archetype may seem to have more than enough energy to nurture her family, but gives to the point of being depleted and resentful. If this sounds like you, then you must realize that taking care of yourself equally as well as you take care of everyone else is a win-win. Begin to re-direct some of your loving energy to yourself and adopt a daily self-care practice of some kind. It will benefit you and your family immeasurably.

5. Bad Thoughts About Money

(even though we want to receive it.) These are some of the things a lot of us say/think:
-I don’t deserve it
-People will judge me if I have it
-There’s never enough.
-Money is the root of all evil.
-I don’t want to pay the high taxes that come along with a high income.
“Money is NOT the root of all evil, but the greed inside of the hearts of the people that contain it.” –Sara Smith
Everything is an energy. If you’re putting these thoughts out there—what do you think you’re going to draw back in? Positivity and unicorn rainbows? No money. No money is what you’re drawing back in because you aren’t showing any positivity towards money so why would it show positivity toward you? You must have a relationship with money—connect your energy with its energy. The way we can combat negativity toward money is by spending money (that we have, obviously). Follow your gut and intuition with purchases and be willing to circulate your abundance! Spending money and putting positive energy out into the universe helps it circulate into the economy, other people’s lives, and DOUBLE back into your life as money.
